Traits 

 

Kind: Ashpool has a seemingly deeper connection to all life around him. He's very in tune with how cats are feeling and how they act, and responds accordingly. While it may seem he's two faced, he's simply wording things or saying things that the cat may need to hear to feel better.

Gentle: You can tell in even his walk, that Ashpool is gentle. He puts his paws down carefully and purposefully, and when he grooms himself or others it's the softest feeling in the world. With his words, he is just as gentle. He likes to sugarcoat things to soften harsh blows.

Forgiving: Ashpool would give anyone a second chance, or maybe even limitless ones as he always thinks the best of every cat, and makes sure that it's all okay.

Quiet: More content to sit and watch, Ashpool is never one to join into playfighting or chasing the mossball. He often doesn't strike up conversation unless he finds it absolutely necessary, and doesn't truly care about playing games with others unless he knows it'll cheer them up.

Shy: When it comes to meeting new cats, Ashpool can become very shy, often shuffling his paws and staring at the ground while trying to maintain what little conversation has been started. He's not sure truly how to carry on conversations with new cats. However, when you get to know him, he opens up quite a bit.

Momma’s Boy: Ashpool will never leave his need for his mother, and will probably never outgrow it. He’s very close with his mother and he loves her dearly.

Loving: Ashpool is incredibly caring, and is always making sure others are okay before himself. He hates when others feel bad around him.

Concealed: Ashpool is very modest about what he does. He gets embarrassed easily, anywhere from making dirt to accidentally burping. He hates being made fun of for these things, and often does because it makes him cry, unfortunately.

Dependent: Even from a young age, Ashpool never showed the true qualities of a leader and is a strong, dependent follower. When put in charge of something he gets nervous and upset, and will most likely fail at whatever task he is given.

Crybaby: Despite himself, Ashpool takes a lot of self pity on himself and it’s not uncommon to see him sniffling off on the sidelines. He really needs a lot of comfort and emotional attention to not do this.

History

Kithood
Born to a happy couple of Boulderclaw and Rainfall, Ashkit was celebrated among the birth of his two siblings, Pebblekit and Stonekit. He enjoyed life as it was, loving his family and his mom specifically. He couldn’t stand to think of his future, unfortunately, but other than that he was happy.

When Ashkit and his siblings were 5 moons old, Boulderclaw became Boulderstar, and Ashkit couldn’t have been prouder, seemingly unaware of the misery and threat of Echostar vanishing.

Apprenticeship
Made newly an apprentice, Ashpaw still butts heads with his siblings but loves his parents dearly. He’s figured out his sexuality and is proud of it, happily making new friendships when he can. As he moved on through his apprenticeship, he flourished into a strong apprentice, growing closer to his brother and sister, especially Stonepaw, as time went on. He met Bravepaw, and for the grey tom, it was love at first sight- at least for him.

A few moons later, a few weeks before his warrior ceremony, he was met and attacked on the border by a fox and Mapletuft, a ShadowClan warrior, who saved him and dragged him back to camp after the damage had been done; his head had been slammed around too much and his ear drums burst permanently and badly, making blood drip from his ears for several days after.

Up and moving, he became sullen and hostile to everyone, including his parents and Bravepaw, but he got his warrior name on time; Ashpool. But it’s not like he could’ve heard it anyway.

Warriorhood
Now a fully fledged warrior, Ashpool was struggling to get a foothold. He struggled with hunting, stalking, really anything a normal warrior should do. Seeing himself as more of a den mother, he hovered around the nursery more often than his nest in the elders’ den. His brother, Stonestripe, helped him learn how to read mouths, and he taught a few tail flicks to his brother to signify what he wanted, without having to speak. However, his warrior life was short lived.

Queen Life
Ashpool set up a nest in the back corner of the nursery, content to sleep and act as a surrogate mother to those kits who didn’t have mothers, to just helping out the queens by keeping them entertained. Ashpool spends most of his time here, doting, or he’s out with his brother or Bravepaw. 

Recently, Bravepaw has stopped showing, and despite his best efforts Ashpool has had to move on, and is slowly recovering mentally from the incident. He spends a lot of time with Stonestripe, and is generally overall happy.

He met Fogrunner on the WindClan border, and after moons of meeting up and falling deeply in love with him, asked him to move with him to RiverClan.

Elderhood
Moved to the elder's den at 16 moons old, Ashpool feels more alone than ever in the nearly empty den, feeling awkward around Thorntuft and Halfwing. He avoids it as much as he can to spend time with Fogrunner. 

A few moons after his move, he and his mate asked Shatteredbrook, a she-cat to carry their kits. His three kits Hushkit, Mosskit, and Pebblekit were born soon after. He loved all three of his kits, but he could feel that Fogrunner was pushing slowly away, longing for the open air of WindClan. Ashpool spoke with him, and agreed to let Fogrunner leave RiverClan, his kits, and Ashpool, his mate, himself. He struggled, but found his new freedom as a single father within the Clan inspiring, but has not told his kits what had happened to their father.
